ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kimberly O'Dell, a native of Calhoun County, holds a bachelor and master degree in history as well as a Master of Science Degree in Secondary History Education from Jacksonville (AL) State University. Ms. O'Dell also holds an Educational Specialist Degree in Adult Education and Adult Education and English Language Teaching Graduate Certificate from Auburn University.

 

Ms. O'Dell first partnered with Arcadia Publishing in 1997 to create Images of America: Calhoun County. The book was well received so Ms. O'Dell and Arcadia collaborated on a second volume Images of America: Anniston two years later. 

 

After an almost fifteen year hiatus from writing, Ms. O'Dell partnered with Arcadia Publishing for a third volume Images of America: Anniston Revisited. Throughout her time as an author, Ms. O'Dell worked in both the academic and business realms as an educator, trainer, instructional designer, and career specialist. 

 

Based in Calhoun County, Alabama, Ms. O'Dell is a historian, instructional designer, and educator that has worked in Alabama and Georgia for the last 20 years. She is a member of the Anniston Historic Preservation Commission, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Alabama Historical Association, the Organization of American Historians, and the National Historic Trust.
