November 22, 1953: Anniston, AL. The Calhoun County Creamery announced their Homogenized Vitamin D Milk bore the seal that stated it was accepted by the American Medical Association. The company offered milk for sale at local stores as well as directly through the creamery by phoning in an order.

November 23, 1961: West Anniston, AL. Murphree’s, an electronics store, was located at 1512 West 10th Street near the railroad crossing. The business offered GE products including a stereo for $179.

November 24, 1949: Anniston, AL. The United Woolens Stores at 1003 Noble Street offered 100% Virgin Wool Men’s Suits for $29.50. The business shared the Caldwell Building with Mangel’s, a women’s store.

November 25, 1927: Anniston, AL. The S. A. Williams Company held an after-Thanksgiving Sale. The women’s clothing store at 1114 Noble Street offered winter coats between $5 and $55 as well as dresses from $6.95 to $9.95.

November 26, 1916: Anniston, AL. Ory’s Department Store, in the Constantine Building at the corner of 10th and Noble Streets, was a dry goods store that offered women’s suits for sale at the low price of $9.98. The Ory family had immigrated from Russia and opened the store in the early 20th Century in Anniston.

November 27, 1947: Anniston, AL. W. T. Grant Company, at the corner of 11th and Noble Streets, was a 5 and 10 cent store. The business also offered a 25-cent breakfast meal at the lunch counter inside the store. By this time in Anniston’s history, Grant’s had taken over the entire Smith Building which was built around 1890. The original site of Grant’s was turned into a city parking lot.

November 28, 1948: Anniston, AL. Ferrell’s Jewelry Store offered special prices for Christmas. Rings for women ranged in price from $19.75 to $100 during the Christmas Sale. The jewelry store was located in the 1100 Block of Noble Street.
